Spring is here and I had a good week. I love it when the red buds are out and the air is warmer. That and the Dandelions are a sure sigh of spring to me. I also did pick violets on my Birthday last week. Mom use to put them on my Birthday cake.
I along with Liz made the drive to Marcia’s house on Friday. It is always fun to work with like minded folks around.
Joyce worked on her project from the retreat and she was doing the facing that day.
Deb spent her time repairing Lambchop for her grandchild.
Nancy worked on a baby quilt.
Liz made more houses for her project, but I didn’t get a photo.
I worked on these faces at Marcia’s.
I made it to the Textile Talks both weeks and the Pixie meetings too.
Progress Report: Lap 7-25 The feeling of spring really invaded this project. There was a time when I would never choose this green as a part of my pallet. Guess we all change.
This quilt ended up being 40″ 50.5″. I really enjoyed this project. The reflective quilting adds to the feeling of movement in my eyes.
I also had one print left over so it will become a pillow I think.
Black Light I stretch this project and it is 16″ X 20″. It is my second Oxymoron project.
I used Angelina and free motion work to create my circles.
Tennis Shoes Joyce challenged me to paint tennis shoes a few months ago. I finally got the job done.
Dreaming I am in the middle of the quilting step on this project now. I am doing each color in a different free motion pattern.
Lap 19-25 Sometimes the fabric just tells one what to do. I thought this was going to become a back for a lap quilt . But with the fresh eyes that come in the morning – I realized it worked on it’s own. The top I thought I was doing really belongs on a horizonal layout-so I will use it on the next Scrap Happy in that fashion.
Felt Balls I am still working away on these fellows.
Glove Block Because I spent a lot of time in waiting rooms this week, I did a lot of work on this square. I look forward to assembling the total quilt when this handwork is done.
Red Tide I try to put in a little time in on this project most days. The bead and button step is nearly complete.
Scissors Pillow I did the free motion work in class last summer. I finally put the pillow together this week.
Sand Piper I used this last sand paper to make a little project.
Next week I will be taking a five day workshop with Pat Pauly at the Schweinfurth. I will be dyeing fabric and in preparation for that process I have been busy soda soaking fabric this week. As a result of the class there will not be a blog post on April 10. I look forward to the dye play and I plan to take lots of photos.
Keep Creating
